Melbourne, Australia – October 13, 2009: M2M Connectivity has signed to be the Australia and New Zealand distributor for Quake Global’s range of satellite modems. Quake Global is a leading manufacturer of satellite modems for the ORBCOMM® and IRIDIUM® satellite networks and will soon launch its own series of Globalstar Simplex products.
M2M Connectivity will supply a range of Orbcomm modems including Quake Global’s lowest cost Q1000 modem with a small footprint measuring 6.4 x 6.4 x 1.6cms. The Q1200 is also available offering integrated satellite based communication capabilities with full RF/EMI protection designed to ensure reliable operation in remote and severe environments.
For Iridium, M2M Connectivity offers the Q9612 satellite transceiver, a new generation product contained within a small footprint measuring 10.9 x 6.4 x 1.9cms and is designed to optimize two-way data links. The Q9612 module has 9-18V power conditioning, can be installed directly onto a 12V vehicle, and is interfaced with an RS-232 serial port. The modem is programmable through an AT Command Set Interface. The Q9612 is an ideal solution for information-critical applications in almost every part of the globe. There is also the Q9601 a smaller, lighter unit drawing less power and costs less than other satellite transceivers. The Q9601 is designed as an OEM module for integration into applications that only use the Iridium Short Burst Data Service. Short Burst Data applications are supported through an RS232 interface.
The modems from Quake Global enable the tracking and controlling of a wide variety of valuable assets located virtually anywhere on earth. Major applications include asset tracking for heavy equipment, aviation, maritime, trucking, rail, utilities, oil & gas, military and government.
