Melbourne, Australia – December 10: M2M Connectivity introduces the Quake Q-Pro Inmarsat IDP with turnkey application. The Quake Q-Pro satellite data modem with Inmarsat/GPS/Cellular is a portable, self-contained global communication and navigation system offering low-cost satellite tracking and data services globally over the Inmarsat-4 satellite constellation. This rugged, environmentally sealed modem offers the latest in advanced programmable features for tailored communications.
The Q-Pro IDP is a hybrid (terrestrial + Inmarsat) modem that delivers reliable two-way data messaging through the Inmarsat IsatData Pro network and terrestrial cellular networks and is equipped with an advanced 50-channel GPS system. Developers and integrators can select a variety of power options including Inputs/Outputs, antenna detection, Can Bus, serial Comms and others.
The Q-Pro, when configured for IsatData Pro, will download near real-time messages of up to 10,000 bytes to any device, and send up to 6,400 bytes from the device. This increase in data packet size and transmission speed meets customer demands for higher data capacity and reduced latency in machine-to-machine (M2M) solutions.
With the serial application loaded on the Q-Pro IDP modem, a stream of bytes can pass over the first available network with priority to the terrestrial network. Loaded with the turnkey application, the Q-Pro offers tracking capabilities as well as control over the air. The turnkey application allows the user to configure the modem using a series of interactive menus. The message intervals of both the terrestrial and Inmarsat networks are configurable
The Q-Pro IDP also uses an API (Application Programming Interface) that empowers developers to integrate its functions and build customized onboard applications.
