The Sierra Wireless AirLink Fastrack Xtend FXT Series of programmable gateways enables customers to add cellular to an existing non-wireless application, or can serve as a platform to create new products.
AirLink Fastrack programmable gateways are supported by the Sierra Wireless Software Suite, formerly known as Wavecom OpenAT. This allows customers and integrators to leverage a robust programming platform to build their own customized applications for their specific deployment. The Gateway can host your entire application enabling you to turn the AirLink Fastrack Xtend into your own stand-alone product.
The Sierra Wireless AirLink FXT programmable gateways provide a highly extendable platform for the creation of a wide range of M2M solutions, with versions supporting quad-band GSM/GPRS and EDGE, tri-band HSPA, and CDMA 1xRTT. They come with both RS232 and USB interfaces and there is an optional battery allowing power over USB. The FXT series features a slot for adding expansion cards, enabling you to add extra functionalities including GPS, additional IO, Ethernet, or you can design your own expansion card. Further AirVantage services such as IDS are available on the FXT series products.
For existing developers using the Sierra Wireless Fastrack Supreme, the migration to the FXT series is very simple with full compatibility between the Supreme series and the FXT series plus developers can easily migrate to a 3G/NextG solution should this be a requirement.
M2M Connectivity supplies the complete range of these products covering 3G/NextG/HSPA, GSM, GPRS, EDGE, and CDMA modules. We can also advise on AirVantage services including remote monitoring and software upgrades of M2M devices in the field.
