Melbourne, Victoria: Australian IoT firm M2M Connectivity, a Sierra Wireless company, has appointed Josh Velling from Cradlepoint to head up its Channel Partner programs in Australia.

The appointment follows the recent announcement that M2M Connectivity will act as a value-added distributor of Peplink technology and solutions across Australia and New Zealand.

Peplink is one of the world’s leading manufacturers of wireless solutions – specialising in SD-WAN technology, including 5G and LTE edge routers.

In the newly created role of Channel Director, Velling will lead M2M Connectivity’s drive to create  a national Peplink partner program with a target of onboarding up to 20 partners, with at least two in each State or Territory, by the end of 2021.

M2M Connectivity believes Peplink’s technology will help fuel Australia’s transition from fixed-line to dedicated wireless 5G able to deliver ‘always on’ networks for large enterprises.

Velling will draw on experience gained in channel management roles at Sony and SanDisk to design and shape Peplink’s Australian channel program. In his previous role at Cradlepoint, he helped oversee sales of the first enterprise grade technology in Australia to offer 5G.

“Peplink is a world leader in SD-WAN, and in line with the rise of 5G in Australia, there is a huge opportunity for companies looking for a differentiated solution which will help them ride this new wave of technology,” says Velling.

“My focus will be on creating a program which puts the partner experience first, and is well supported with training and providing access to M2M’s deep skills and knowledge in connectivity,” he adds.

Under Velling’s guidance, the Peplink program will target large organisations in sectors including mining, retail, construction and education, who require robust SD-WAN technology to remotely manage networks and devices across multiple locations. It will be the first of a series of channel partner programs rolled out by M2M Connectivity.

Darren Moroney, Director at M2M Connectivity, said: “Josh will play a critical role in building Peplink’s presence in Australia and growing our broader channel partner programs. We are glad to have him at helm and to be the master distributor for a globally-recognised leader in this space.”

Keith Chau, General Manager of Peplink, said: “We are honoured that M2M Connectivity is tapping Mr. Velling, an ex-CradlePoint veteran, to drive Peplink’s innovative technologies among its broad channel coverage in Australia. This also strengthens the long-standing relationship between Peplink and Sierra Wireless in the global market, and we look forward to working together.”

Peplink’s technology is known for its ability to provide fast and reliable connectivity through SpeedFusion by combining the bandwidth of multiple WAN connections and seamless failover between WAN links.

M2M Connectivity’s partnership with Peplink strengthens its existing portfolio which includes leading solutions and devices for industrial, remote and vehicle-focused environments. M2M Connectivity will distribute SD-WAN devices with robust wireless capabilities including the MBX, SDX, EPX as well as the Balance series- designed for large organisations.
